We are still in need of volunteers for the Saturday meet, as well as the post-meet BBQ. Remember: Every family has a volunteer requirement. Get some of yours out of the way early (and help when we need you most!)

FIRST BBQ OF THE SEASON NEEDS YOUR HELP! 

Hi Serpent Families,

This coming Saturday the swimmers will be racing, the timers will be timing… and soon enough, everyone will be hungry.

That means it’s time for our post–Country Glen swim meet BBQ this Saturday, June 13, and we could use a few brave (and hungry) volunteers to make the magic happen!

We promise no prior culinary degree is required—just a willingness to help and maybe a tolerance for grill smoke.

We’re looking for:

Produce Prep Squad

• Slice onions, lettuce, and tomatoes + deliver to the pool by 10:00 AM (1 more volunteer needed)
• Slice watermelon + deliver to the pool by 10:00 AM (1 more volunteer needed)

BBQ Setup Crew (10:00–11:00 AM)

• Help get everything ready before the hungry crowd descends (2 volunteers needed)

Grill Masters-in-Training

• Grill burgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers to backyard BBQ perfection (2 volunteers needed—aprons optional, bragging rights included)

Cleanup Champions (11:30–12:00 PM)

• Help wrap things up so we can leave the space sparkling (and sneak one last bite ) (2 volunteers needed)

Whether you’re a slicing superstar, a grill guru, or just someone who enjoys feeding smiling swimmers, we’d love your help.

Team Tuesday is back! 

Enjoy some time with your fellow Serpents outside of the pool this summer at our Team Tuesday events. Most events are from 1–3 PM and all ages are welcome. Exact details for some events will be shared as they are finalized, but here's this year's lineup:

June 23 – Serpent Painting at We Art Fun

June 30 – Bowling (Details TBD)

July 7 – Movie at Regal Rockville (Details TBD) 

July 14 – Monster Mini Golf (1:00 PM) 

Our first Team Tuesday event is almost here! Join us on Tuesday, June 23 from 2:00–3:45 PM at We Art Fun Studio in Germantown as we create a custom Serpent painting together. (Here's what we're painting!)

Cost: $35 per participant

SATURDAY A-MEET VS. COUNTRY GLEN

Our first Saturday morning dual meet of the year is upon us! We are swimming Country Glen at home on Saturday, June 13!

The meet theme is Pac Man! 

Please bring a white shirt to the meet.

The coaches will direct you from there!

The line-up is posted on the bulletin board and in Swimtopia. Please check to see if you are swimming! 

ALL program swimmers and parents are encouraged to attend the meet! Even if you are not swimming, come and cheer the team on! If you are swimming the meet, please arrive at Stonegate at 7:45 am.

Thinking Ahead to Saturday: When we host meets, we park on the streets!

Starting this Saturday and continuing at subsequent home swim meets, please drop your swimmers off and park on Stonegate Drive or other surrounding streets. Let's leave our parking lot for our visitors. It's called being a good host, and it's something other teams do for us! Thank you in advance for your consideration.

FRIDAY, JUNE 12 PRACTICE SCHEDULE CHANGE

Our first pep rally and potluck dinner is on Friday, June 12. Thus, we need to alter the practice schedule slightly. We will begin the pep rally and potluck dinner at 6:30 pm. The resulting practice schedule for Friday, June 12 is below

• 13 and Overs 4:30-5:15 pm
• 9-12's 5:15-6:00 pm
• 8 and under 6:00-6:30 pm

Would you like to perform the National Anthem at a home meet? We need you!

We are looking for performers for the National Anthem, if you would like to share your musical talents on a Wednesday night or Saturday morning swim meet. If you like to sing or can play an instrument, please email [email protected].

Please contribute Snack Bar Drink "Dues"

Traditionionally, we ask each Serpent family to donate $10 towards purchasing drinks for selling at the snack bar during home meets. You can Venmo the amazing Marjie Dewey (@Marjie-Dewey) who purchases the drinks to fill our stock. If you don't have Venmo, please donate $10 at the snack bar set up at Saturday’s meet. Thanks Serpent families!

Serpent Shanty

The Serpent Shanty will be your go-to for all things Serpent Swim Team!

We will have items for purchase at all home meets! Our current offerings include umbrellas, car flags, car magnets, team schedule bag tags, swim caps, croc charms, and water bottle stickers. We also have a limited inventory of team t-shirts available at the Shanty.

2026 Swim Team schedule bag tags and team swim caps are available for pre-purchase with credit card on the SwimTopia website (https://serpents.swimtopia.com/team-store) to be picked up at the Serpent Shanty!

2026 Team Swim Caps

We have the 2026 team caps (white) available at the Shanty. Caps can be purchased in person using cash or Venmo, or pre-paid on the SwimTopia website (under the Team Store tab.) We also have previous years' silicone caps (blue or silver) and latex caps (blue, silver or white) available for purchase the same way.

Serpent Team Suits

The new two-year team swim suit is set up in the Stonegate Swim Outlet private page and ready to order! This suit is new for 2026 and will also be the team suit for 2027.

Visit https://www.swimoutlet.com/ and search "Stonegate Serpents" as your team. You will be able to view the team suit on the team page, and any purchases you make on the site will benefit the team!
